Sonic Screwdriver Bluetooth Presentation Remote Clicker – AM&Co

While being an audience member in a workshop, our director, Aaron, found out that the presenter was a massive Dr Who fan who would’ve loved it if he had a sonic screwdriver that could advance the presentation slides. After a quick chat (& a promise), AM&Co went to work and within 8 weeks had designed and retrofitted some custom electronics into a off-the-shelf sonic screwdriver to control slides! The device connects to computers via bluetooth, contains a rechargeable Li-Ion battery and seamlessly controls presentation slides. Let us know if you are interested in obtaining one!

UFG Group – Cherrp BOC

UFG Group is commercialising a device that communicates with birds to deter them from fields and attract them to purpose build feeding stations. This device allows farmers to protect their crop in an ethical manner. The UFG Group approached AM&Co to assist with developing their first integrated prototype to allow for extended fields trials. The solution included the design, assembly and bench testing of two complex printed circuit boards (PCBs) and assembly of multiple sets of devices including cabling.

Athena Irrigation – TranspIR

TranspIR & TranspIR V2.0. Athena Irrigation provides solutions for vineyard irrigation management based on proximal plant sensing with proprietary sensing techniques. The Athena team approached AM&Co to assist with designing, building and testing the first commercial prototype called TranspIR. The TranspIR device is battery operated, includes multiple environmental sensors, and sends periodic measurements to the cloud (AWS) for analysis and reporting to the end customer. The Athena team was so impressed with the first version of the sensors, that they have approached AM&Co again for the next iteration of the device (TranspIR V2.0) which include enhancement based on field and user feedback.

NovitaTech approached AM&Co to work on the design and implementation of a set of printed circuit boards (PCBs) that managed user input, haptic feedback, wireless communications, better management and wireless charging.

Global Movement is developing a novel device that assists patients’ rehabilitation after should surgery. The device allows users to improve and track their shoulder range of movement. Global Movement approached AM&Co to build a fully functional prototype (and phone app) to allow them to demonstrate the capability of the device and gain valuable feedback from potential users. The solution included the designs, assembly, and testing of two printed circuit boards (PCBs) that accurately controlled two motors, provided user feedback and fit within the design constraints (size, energy efficiency and functionality). The design also included additional circuitry to allow for future functional upgradability (wireless communications of results).

AM&Co helped build a compression bandage sensor that provides feedback to clinicians on whether compression bandages were applied correctly. Parkki approached AM&Co with a concept for the device and AM&Co designed and built a few prototypes to allow for user evaluation and feedback.
